In the fast-paced digital era, staying connected with your audience is crucial, even for organizations deeply rooted in tradition. Sinsinawa Dominican Sisters, an institution with a rich history dating back to 1847, recognized the need to adapt and engage with their community and with the public in a modern way. We enjoy partnering with the Sinsinawa Sisters to bring their digital presence to the forefront of their communications.
Tricia Buxton, Communication Director for the Dominican Sisters of Sinsinawa, approached us in 2016 with the goal of modernizing Sinsinawa’s online presence. Since then, we’ve worked with Sinsinawa Sisters on a variety of projects—we’ve helped build an Events Management System to allow visitors to RSVP and purchase tickets to events online, enhanced their intranet to allow members of the community to collaborate with one another, and redesigned their public website which includes the ability to collect online donations with ease.
“With the help of Kim Miller and her knowledgeable staff at Fluid Minds, we were able to reach a wider audience to promote our mission and the ministries of our Sisters. Fluid Minds worked with us to make it easier for our supporters to donate online and feel secure in doing so,” said Tricia. “They took the guesswork out of building an intuitive navigational structure on our site and enhanced the adaptive design so that no matter what devices our visitors use to access our site, they can find the information they need quickly without feeling frustrated by excessive searching. Fluid Minds is proactive in running security updates which gives me peace of mind knowing our site is more secure and up to date with the latest protection against external threats.”
During the initial Design Phase, we worked with Tricia to prioritize user experience while creating visually appealing content. Navigating the site is a seamless journey, with intuitive menus and easy access to essential information. Visitors can explore the rich history, learn about the Sisters, and engage with the community effortlessly. To make the website more engaging, Fluid Minds incorporated interactive elements such as virtual tours, multimedia presentations, and a dynamic events calendar. These features not only captivate the audience but also provide a platform for the Sisters to share their stories in a modern, interactive way. According to Google Analytics reports, visits to the www.sinsinawa.org site were up 11.9 percent from the previous year, and the average engagement time of visitors also increased. Sinsinawa has seen an additional 100 online donations since the launch of the new website, compared to the prior year.
To ensure the website’s reliability and performance, Fluid Minds implemented a robust technical infrastructure. The use of the latest web technologies guarantees fast loading times, optimal security, and a seamless browsing experience. We monitor and update the websites as part of our ongoing Website Care Plans.
It remains a priority to the Sinsinawa Communication Team that they can manage their content effortlessly. We built the website on WordPress, a user-friendly Content Management System, and provided training videos and support as their team learned to navigate this system. This allows the Sisters to update information, share news, and maintain an active online presence without the need for extensive technical knowledge.
Sinsinawa.org‘s transformation is more than just a visual upgrade – it’s a testament to the harmonious blend of tradition and innovation. With the help of Fluid Minds, the Sisters at Sinsinawa can now reach a wider audience, share their stories, and continue their mission in the digital age. This success story showcases the transformative power of thoughtful web design in preserving and evolving the identity of an institution.
